    Biography

    Founder of the Fòrum Gastronòmic in 1999, in Vic, the first gastronomy congress in Europe, which has been held in different cities in Catalonia and Galicia over the last 26 years. He is currently the Director of Content for the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona and the Galicia Gastronomic Forum. A driving force behind the first Cooking Collectives in Catalonia, he has organised, among others, the Concurs de Formatges Artesans del Pirineu (Pyrenean Artisan Cheese Competition), the Orígens fair (Olot) and Arrels (Menorca), as well as numerous initiatives related to cooking and culinary products. He has given classes and lectures, published books and articles on cooking, and collaborated with various media outlets. He participated in the II Congrés de Cuina Catalana (2nd Catalan Cuisine Congress) and advised Turisme de Catalunya for 12 years on the creation of gastronomic tourism products and the international promotion of Catalan cuisine. He recently collaborated on the Guía Augusta, a guide to Catalan cuisine restaurants.

    The Cuiner Gastronomic Forum Barcelona award, which was born in 2009, recognizes the work of emerging chefs who offer quality culinary proposals, using local products , and who are committed to sustainable cuisine.  Six candidates, pre-selected through online voting and the criteria of a specialized jury, cook live a dish that identifies them and summarizes their cuisine.

    The Barcelona Sustainable Food Classroom at the Barcelona Gastronomic Forum is a meeting point for professionals, producers, suppliers, institutions and brands that work for a gastronomy based on values of sustainability, proximity, temporality, social justice and ecological production. For three days, projects, solutions and real experiences will be presented that demonstrate that sustainable transformation in the
    HORECA sector is possible, profitable and necessary. Beyond an exhibition area, it will be a living space, a laboratory of ideas, gastronomy and dialogues to inspire the present and future of sustainable catering.
