Biography

Alfons López is the coordinator of Espai Ambiental Cooperativa, an environmental scientist specialising in sustainability, waste prevention and food systems. He has more than 20 years of professional experience working to bring sustainability closer to citizens and promoting initiatives that generate a positive environmental and social impact.
Throughout his career, he has developed particular expertise in food waste prevention and in promoting more sustainable, participatory and community-based food models. His work combines environmental awareness and education with the development of projects that encourage the responsible use of resources, waste reduction and citizen participation, helping to advance towards more conscious, sustainable food systems that are closely connected to local communities and territories.

2026-11-03 12:00 2026-11-03 12:30 Europe/Madrid The Bloc4 Shared Food Production Facility This talk will introduce the Bloc4BCN Shared Food Production Facility, a professional food preparation and production space located in the city of Barcelona, created to support the development of value-added food projects and strengthen initiatives linked to the social and solidarity economy.
Designed as a shared infrastructure serving entrepreneurs and social initiatives, the facility provides an environment specifically tailored to projects committed to locally sourced products, responsible production and more sustainable food models. Its approach enables entrepreneurs to access professional facilities without having to take on the significant investment required to establish their own production space, particularly during the early stages of a project.
The session will introduce the facility’s operating model, premises and specialised equipment, as well as the different ways in which the space can be used. Its flexible model allows access to be adapted to the specific needs and stage of development of each initiative. In addition, users can benefit from technical support, expert guidance and tailored business development programmes designed to foster long-term consolidation and growth.
