Its first edition, covering 2025–2026, brought together 270 establishments from the four Catalan provinces, ranging from traditional and popular restaurants to contemporary projects. The guide does not establish rankings or scores, but seeks to highlight establishments that preserve, interpret and project Catalan cuisine.
The project originated in a gastronomic recommendations section launched by Pep Nogué in 2018 on La Fonda on Catalunya Ràdio. With the addition of Òscar Gómez and Pep Palau, it became a publication intended to continue on an annual basis. The guide's gastronomic direction is shared by Pep Nogué..
