Mariana Eidler

Biography
With a PhD in Food Design from the School of Architecture at the University of Lisbon, she is responsible for the Degree in Design for Food Systems at ELISAVA, in collaboration with CETT Barcelona. She currently directs the Barcelona Food Design Lab at ELISAVA, Faculty of Design and Engineering of Barcelona (UVic-UCC), and is co-founder of the organisation FORK – Food Design for Opportunities, Research & Knowledge. A graduate in Design from ELISAVA and in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, she complemented her training with a Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude (CAP) from the UPC. She subsequently expanded her academic profile with a master's degree in Branding from Parsons School of Design (New York) and a master's degree in Design and Communication from ELISAVA. Her professional career combines design practice, art direction and teaching. As a food designer, she has developed innovative projects linked to sustainability and the intersection between culture, gastronomy and design. In New York, she worked alongside Milton Glaser, and in Barcelona she founded @tactica.barcelona, a studio from which she promoted sustainable projects for the food industry. Her work focuses on connecting research, creativity and education, with the aim of promoting more conscious and transformative design for the food systems of the future.Sessions
