Biography
Josep Brunés is a farmer and livestock breeder, responsible for the Hort de Can Tabaquet, an agricultural project located in Lliçà de Vall (Vallès Oriental). He is known for his work in the recovery and cultivation of local varieties, such as the paperina cabbage, a traditional variety recognized as a singular product by the Diputació de Barcelona. According to him, this cabbage is more tender, flavorful, and fibrous than commercial varieties, preserving the characteristics of cabbages consumed in the past.In addition, the Can Tabaquet farmhouse has a long family history dating back to the 18th century, with documents confirming the presence of the Brunés family since 1766. The house preserves elements such as the old wine cellar, the press, and a fermentation vat, bearing witness to the estate’s winemaking tradition.
